CAMMA
CAMMA is an international gathering that brings together ministers, experts, and representatives from governments and specialized organizations in the mining sector of Latin America and the Caribbean. This event is considered the most important in the mining industry in the region and aims to promote sustainable mining, strengthen the governance of mineral resources, and foster inter-institutional collaboration for the comprehensive development of participating countries.

The Mining and Sustainability Forum of the Americas 2024 took place in Lima, Peru, on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM (local time). The forum’s theme was «Beyond Extraction: Leveraging the Value of Critical Minerals», and it gathered over 150 participants. The event was organized by the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining (IGF), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Conference of Mining Ministries of the Americas (CAMMA).

Our Story
The Conference of Mining Ministries of the Americas (CAMMA) is a regional forum that brings together ministers and high-level representatives from the mining sector across the Americas. Its main objective is to foster dialogue, cooperation, and sustainable development in the mining industry by promoting best practices, innovative policies, and regional integration.
Since its inception, CAMMA has served as a key platform for discussing critical issues such as resource governance, environmental impact, responsible mining, and the strategic use of minerals for the energy transition. Over the years, the conference has been supported by international organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals, and Sustainable Development (IGF), strengthening its role in the continent’s mining agenda.
